On April 26, the Hubei Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau announced the provincial 100 food paper packaging, paper container product supervision spot check results. In the fourth quarter of 2016, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) organized a supervisory spot check on paper packaging and paper containers in Hubei Province. A total of 59 batches of products from 59 enterprises were checked, and the qualified rate of products was 83%. Among them, 54 batches of products from 54 enterprises in the production field and 5 batches of products from 5 enterprises in the circulation field were selected for inspection. After inspection, a total of 49 enterprises 49 batches of products qualified, 10 enterprises 10 batches of products unqualified.

At present, the quality of products of medium-sized enterprises in Hubei province is stable, and the qualified rate of products is 100%, while the qualified rate of small enterprises is low. The 10 unqualified enterprises involved in this spot check belong to small enterprises. The main types of products are: paper cup, paper bowl, food packaging paper, packaging paper box, film paper five types of products. Paper cups and paper bowls accounted for 86.4% of the total number of samples, but the qualified rate of paper bowls was the lowest, only 75.0%. Eleven food-related products were found to be unqualified in the province, accounting for 21.6% of the number of unqualified products in 2016, which lowered the qualified rate of national supervision and spot inspection in the province by 1.6 percentage points.

The problem of unqualified sensory indicators is mainly that the distance between the printing and the cup mouth and bottom does not meet the standard requirements, which may lead to the direct contact of the printing parts and the ingestion of substances harmful to human health in the process of use.
